Magnet Folk

A commission for a child’s toy, these figures needed to be suitably robust to suit small hands and big tantrums.

A princess, a fisherman, a solider and a wizard, all made from maple and painted with water-based wood stains, resulted in a set of vibrant and recognisable characters akin to traditional wooden figures.

​

Each character is made in 3 parts with inset magnets, making for opportunities to mix and meddle.
