Oyster catcher

Oyster catchers can be seen around the coast of the UK, and in more recent years have started breeding further inland.  This one was commissioned as a birthday gift.

The contrasting tones are made from black walnut and sycamore, with the red beak in padauk.

Slim copper rods provide the characteristic pinkish red legs.  The base is made from a narrow block of acacia wood with strong growth rings in a warm sandy tone.
